I’m a senior environment artist and digital matte painter with more than twenty years of experience building cinematic worlds across feature animation and visual effects.

My work spans LAIKA, DreamWorks Animation, Netflix Animation, Blue Sky Studios, and live-action VFX in New York, with credits across stop-motion, CG animation, and feature film.

Most recently at LAIKA, I’ve been helping build the environment and DMP workflow for Wildwood, extending handcrafted stop-motion sets into full CG worlds in Blender. The work combines terrain building, atmospherics, projection workflows, lighting continuity, and sequence-scale environment design integrated against USD-driven production assets.

Earlier in my career I spent more than a decade at Blue Sky Studios helping shape the studio’s sky and atmosphere workflows across multiple features including Peanuts, Epic, Rio, Ice Age, Ferdinand, Spies in Disguise, and Nimona.

The work I care about most tends to live at the seam between disciplines. Between environment and comp. Between physical photography and digital extension. Between shot execution and pipeline thinking. The goal is always the same: build environments that disappear into the storytelling.

Over the last several years that same mindset has carried into generative workflows. I build cinematic image and video pipelines using ComfyUI, Flux, Wan, Veo, and LTX with the same production discipline I bring to feature work: continuity, evaluation, reproducibility, atmosphere, and believable cinematic scale.

The cinematic toolset is changing. The standards don't have to.
